CVR College of Engineering, established in 2001, is a pioneer in providing quality education to students. CVRCE, true to its vision, is in Pursuit of Excellence while catering to the changing needs of the student community at large for the last couple of decades. CVRCE is ranked among the top few premier institutions in the state of Telangana and holds NIRF ranking of less than 200. The College is Autonomous under the UGC and accredited by the NAAC with Grade ‘A’. The college promotes academic research and consultancy. The college publishes "CVR Journal of Science & Technology" to disseminate research content. The College is working towards accomplishing its mission to serve the nation as a center of quality education, research and knowledge.
About Our Department
The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in 2011 with an intake of 60 students. It has been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) under the Tier-1 category. The department comprises faculty members with a strong blend of industry and academic experience. It is equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories, including production machines such as CNC turning centre, CNC milling centre, and advanced software like ANSYS and CFD, with a total outlay of ₹3 crores. The department also offers consultancy services in the area of CNC machining. The faculty members are actively engaged in research and professional practice. They have published about 200 papers in Scopus, SCI, and SCIE-indexed journals and have filed about 30 patents, including 2 granted patents. The department has also received research grants worth about ₹98 lakhs from reputed organizations. Also, it has successfully organized three international conferences - ICE3MT2020, ICE3MT2022, and ICE3MT2024 - in the fields of Mechanical, Materials, and Manufacturing Technology.
